atingi Empowers 570,000 Women via Digital Learning

June 4, 2025

In 2023, atingi made a bold pledge under the Partner2Connect (P2C) Digital Coalition, committing to reach 500,000 women with its inclusive e-learning offers. Today, we’re proud to announce that this goal has not only been met – but exceeded – with more than 570,000 female learners now registered on the platform.

The P2C Coalition, spearheaded by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), mobilizes resources and partnerships to achieve universal, meaningful connectivity, particularly in underserved communities. As part of Germany’s contribution – via the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented through GIZ – atingi fulfilled its pledge, making a direct and measurable impact within the P2C framework.

This milestone was made possible through strategic collaboration with over 200 partners, including international organizations, NGOs, civil society actors, and other GIZ projects. Together, we co-created and delivered accessible, gender-transformative digital content tailored to learners’ diverse needs.

atingi equips its partners with online modules, technical guidance, and outreach strategies -ranging from inclusive design to offline learning solutions like the "atingi box." Such innovations, including messenger-based and micro-learning formats, helped overcome barriers often faced by women, such as limited connectivity and time constraints due to unpaid care work.

A standout initiative is the FemPreneur Programme in Togo, developed with GIZ’s ProDED project. Using offline micro-servers, localised content, and community engagement, the programme has already empowered 500 aspiring female entrepreneurs across the country.

By harnessing inclusive technology and community-based outreach, including female micro-influencers, atingi continues to promote meaningful connectivity and inclusive digital transformation – helping to expand access to learning opportunities for those who need it most.
