The digital learning platform atingi is commissioned and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and was implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in 2019. atingi leverages the potential of digitisation and offers free learning opportunities worldwide that comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
atingi offers exactly those knowledge modules and learning materials needed in the partner countries of German development cooperation and that match our learners' economic and cultural needs. Digital learning with atingi allows young people to unlock their full potential, acquire new skills, and significantly improve their chances in the local labour market.
Access to atingi's high-quality digital learning content is free and available anytime, anywhere. atingi was developed by a team of digital experts and is part of the Digital Transformation global programme. In collaboration with Smart Africa, the African Union’s digital initiative, and many other partners from the private sector, politics, the scientific and academic community and civil society, GIZ is working to provide learning opportunities for all, in a way that is inclusive, accessible, relevant, safe and secure.

In many countries, access to learning content and lifelong learning opportunities remains a challenge. Large parts of the global population can't benefit from existing educational offers due to geographical remoteness and a lack of financial resources.
Marginalised groups such as women and girls, as well as people living in more remote and rural areas, are particularly affected by restrained access to education. This results in a lack of required competencies and difficulties finding employment in local labour markets.
This concern is what we from atingi, together with our partners, set out to change by reaching young people through innovative e-learning offers. Our educational content is developed locally and geared towards decreasing the skills gaps and improving employability for the jobs of the future.
